Nice demo. Quite rare to see ParadokS lose a dm6 duel, therefore also rare to see him play a bit different towards the final minutes... Ya know, when you know chances of winning are almost zero so you play more fiercly and without backing up and stuff.

Anyways, having seen thousands of ParadokS' demos on this map, I still think he's the best at it.

Nonetheless, very good playing by koopa (Why the fakenicking then?), but I wish scripts like the ones he uses to RJ get prohibited one day..

usually when para starts losing, he says something like "omg lol" and gets really mad and pulls off some really sick stuff, but here he just never gets a chance

considering hes one of the best dm4 players, and just by beating paradoks on DM6. its pretty amazing in my opinion

i think para underestimated him, or was tired, or whatever. but ive seen para lose towards the middle of a game before, and he would just "snap out of it" and win anyway..

but here koopa just didnt give any edge, fantastical play by him

Great demo, yeah.. but I like Para's playing so much, I even prefer his POV when he loses. :P

And you say koopa is good at dm4? Gonna have to download a few demos of him there.. The best dm4 demo I've seen is by Griffin, vs. (damn!..) Paradoks.. wow that was manslaughter.. still, Para rox dm6. Someone should make like, CMT maps for duels.. not enough original ID maps that are good for duels.. dm2 is too big, tourney demos end like 3-1 and stuff. :/

I?ve seen my fair share of para-demos through the years, and he still amazes me.
I have no doubt that he?s the best dm6-player of all time.
Sure, he has lost his homemap dm6 against a bunch of players, but there is noone around that haven?t lost his homemap at least once.
Most of his losses is friendly games also, which i?ve never considered real defeats.
That doesn?t change the fact that he?s a real killer on that map when playing it seriously (or even non-seriously).
Another thing that I like about para at dm6 is the way he plays; mad movement without scripts, killer shaft or aim in general, good tactics despite the fact that he plays it aggressive.
Sure, there are other dm6-players I consider very entertaining to watch, but there is only one para. =B-)

I think there are too many good dm4 players.. it's much more competitive than any other map. Take dm6 for example, Para ownz everyone.. yeah, he loses now and then, but he's the king in there.

But dm4.. nobody can be considered the best in there.. every comment I see from different people say the best player is a different person, heh.. Some say Griffin, others SoD, others Dag, others reload, others koopa... And yet I've seen demos of players like Griffin losing to other good dm4 players, like Xalibur and Striker. Then myth comes and says reppie has the mad dm4 skills.. I think it's just too hard to be the best in that map.

There were 2 other dm6 games played at the same time. Para won them both. One very easily, and one was a bit closer.

However, Para chickened out of playing dm4, Sam was playing a lot of DM4 at that time :)

BTW: if you like old demos like this between 'name' players, I think there are demos of koopa vs. dag on dm4 and dm6 and vs. def somewhere on the internet. Although I don't have them so don't look at me....

#15 I wouldn't really say that....overall Para is a stronger QW player although he does play far more QW than Sam does. I mean you have to be objective as Para did win the other two games although the person who posted the demo doesn't mention this. ;)

I think what people don't appreciate about Koopa is that he has a very different aiming technique from most other players - you can see this in the slightly 'awkward' or 'jerky' way he moves his mouse. Because of this, he has a killer LAN shaft - better even than he showed at QH Lan. But overall it might not be so well suited to QW because he sometimes fires some dodgy rockets...

I?m definitly no koopa-expert, but i?ve watched most of his demos from QHlan and even played him once, and I think you?ve got a good point there about his aiming, rev, even though I think his rl-aiming seems to be a bit underestimated.
About being the best at dm4, I think it?s down to who you play; preferred styles and so on.
Appearantly reppie takes down koopa quite easy on dm4, but for example it was the other way around when koopa played some other players on QHlan.
Since dm4 is by far the most popular duel-map, it?s very hard to crown a "dm4-king".
Besides wellknown players like griffin, dag, sod, xalibur, striker, _|anne, locktar (yes, he?s indeed underestimated on that map) and others, there are also many not so known players that plays a sharp game of qw on dm4, not to mention all fakenickers.
Who knows, maybe even LakermaN is hiding out there =B-)

ApoKaLypZe, koopa was'nt playing his best at qhlan, so its hard to make a decent comparison with him :) It works both ways, reppie beat koopa a few times, koopa beat reppie a few times, simply dm4nisity
