I mean most of us that were in the inner circle have at least moved on to other newer games that require a tad more skill than RUN SHOOT JUMP STRAFE AIM. Maybe you stay in quake because you realize that if you actually had to learn a game that had more to it than the simplicity of Quake, games where there is actually some true strategy to the game, different character classes, different uses for each character that required some actual team work, thinking and true player manipulation. Then again, someone of your level of intelligence doesn't need to be told this right? It's okay kid, I think it all makes sense to me know as I write this. You can't hang with te big boys anymore so that's why you still Quake. The level of competition that once existed is gone so now you can be the self-proclaimed BIG SHIT of NetQuake.

Well OS, I completely agree with you about the patheticness of Epyon, but I disagree that there are other games that require more skill than quake does. Quake looks simple from a distance, but up-close, it's a very complex game, requiring a variety of different skills other than fast reflexes. If you don't believe me, then you were definitely not part of any Quake inner circle ( Maybe an outer one that felt it was special ).

no one great has played in nq since about 1999, sad but true. anyone with skill plays qw or cpm now.

Hey Colin. Yea after re-reading my post I do admit I may have ranted a little too much regarding my comments towards skill in Quake. I certainly was not meaning that Quake 1 was a game that required no skill to play. Obviously there is much thought and strategy involved in both 1on1 and tg's. I'm merely pointing out that newer games have a lot more involvement on the users part whether it be a multitude of character choices, movement, weapons, etc. Literally speaking, in Quake 1, you can jump, run, strafe, shoot and that's about it. Compare that to a Half Life 2 style of game play and you'd have to admit there's much more involved in that game. That's my simple arguement.

Nonetheless, it just still amazes me that these people still argue over a 10+ year old game, even as much as I still love this classic original that IMHO started the online FPS revolution, that they still resort to childish banter about who's better than who, who's cheating, blah blah.
