yes, indeed it IS nice seeing players with big balls and egos being wh00ped by players with brains and cool. please wake me up when the rest of the qw-community comes around and realizes that +forward is BORING (or does everyone still think 60-(-2)or 30-25 matches are worthwhile speccing?). and para will never win any "big title" if he doesn't work on his discipline. rocketjumping after gamer in tunnel on dm2 is almost insulting to gamers skills - think he won't stop you? tss... testosterone and adrenaline is for kids, give us adults more mindgames please. reason some people don't like para is because the way he plays suggests that he underestimates his opponents ... or overestimates himself.

in the end, gamer forces his own pace on the game and outsmarts and outplays para. nicely played.

btw, ztn and aero have been widely accepted for what now? a couple of years? plz stop this kenya raving and learn to play quake. besides, it's insulting to the african qw community.

ok we will wake you up when that happens, but for now - fuck off.

qw has changed, deal with it. want to play like a girl? try a different game.

paradoks and gamer are both evenly matched here even though they have very different approaches to quake. gamer is not shy at all about playing heavy defense, his offensive and aiming routines are so solid that he can afford to do this. paradoks also has good aim (on a good day), but he happens to excel on maps where well-timed charges pay off, and so its just a natural thing for him.

i dont feel i have to defend anyone here, but i will say this: (spoiler alert) the last map was played in such a way as to be decided by the first convincing frag, afterwards playing "seriously" and this allowing your opponent to sit back and work the clock would have been suicide. para had no choice but to rush dm2 after he couldnt overcome the lag to win a decision fight. rushing would at least allow him to capitalise on a possible mistake by gamer.

yes phil, gamers tactics on dm2 are solid enough to let him keep a one frag or two frag lead for the whole remainder of the match if he doesn't screw up with wrong movement.

nate: point taken, let's just consider paradoks a funplayer with no ambition from now on then...

my point is that a gamer can go from "cs" and sneak to incredibly fast play and +forward when he needs to exploit a situation. para can't seem to wind down and play smart when he has to, instead he tries to push harder and that's what makes him fold everytime he faces a skilled and disciplined opponent.

indeed

both sides have valid points, but it's actually kind of meaningless to embrace one style over another. while you're busy +forwarding and getting your face shafted off, the other guy is quietly winning the game. what do you do then, whine that he plays too serious/cheap/pussy/cs? likewise, if you're offended somehow by aggressive, balls-out play yet still get beat by it while you +back and cs, all you have left to do is whine about how mindless/lucky your opponent was... from the loser's bracket.

it's a cliche now, but the truth is that you have to be willing and able to play any style in a given situation to come out on top. what's interesting is seeing how players blend tactics/styles to come up with the most effective mix (that is, the one that wins the most matches).

i take what i said back here

the last map is almost down to the last wire... its more of a forced error game than a first frag game.. definitely not a first frag game

the dm6 (first map) here is one of the best dm6 ive seen to date :o
