Reload doesn't play anymore. He's just a legend. Whenever the top .au players alias they upload the demo as Reload to chtv to keep the legend alive. Problem here is, you've got two Reloads playing :(

13 ping and competent - clearly narrows it down to 2 others in AU - Sting and Venom.

Sting is my guess (even though he claims he 'deleted' quake, its just as easy to 're-install' a c:\quake folder in under 60 seconds.

Could be Venom, but Venom is alot stronger on dm6 than Sting, and Sting plays dm4 well.

God help everyone if Reload got access to a 13 ping...

There is no way in HELL that Dirtbox would be able to pull of this type of challenge to Reload. This is further supported by post number 11.

fyi Mambo is Reload. I was speccing him in teams server today playing venom 1on1 and he confirmed it.

Pity the team servers' dont record demos because Re absolutely raped the living daylights out of Venom on 5/5 maps earlier tonight. Dm2 twice, dm6 twice and dm4. Venom now has 5 new ass holes.


A whole bunch of specs were there, such as mofo, bsl, myself, insane and a bunch of others. Re was even using his real nik.

Especially considering that a) Ping advtange was with Venom and DB respectively, and b) They were not just 'losses' but fucking slaughterings (any spec can vouch for that).

Phil - Why/ How could I make something like that up when I blatantly mentioned other specs that were there. In fact the whole team server was full spectating on them both. Only reason I didnt record, was because it wasnt until AFTER they played, that I found out teams doesnt record 1on1 games. I was planning to dl the demos after they played.

Anyway, Im sure the people that count, being Reload, DB and Venom know the facts, and thats all what matters. Whether or not you, or the Reload bashers believe me? Hahaah like I actually give a fuck!

i hate to get involved in these types of threads, but the venom/reload matches _did_ take place last night on the ipgn team server. i and a bunch of others were spectating them. the demo recording on that server is borked.. probably why there are no demos here.

also, mambo from these demos is reload.

I don't know what the fuck all the fuss is about. Reload is the current_undefeated_LAN player. That in itself says it all. These demos of DB and now Venom are icing on the cake. Even a LAN ping wasn't enough of an advantage to take down Re.

first of all Reload is the qw player I respect most. more than dag, more than griffin, more than locktar and more than venture, which round off my top5 (sorry hagge)

ive heard that 'insane' - reloads bro has moved home lately. whether this is true or not, i dont know. i know he was online playing against ras on dm4 the other day.

ide put money on it that reload vs snobro was not reload at all, and was actually insane. whilst they both play very fast and have a unique movement, watch the dm2 snobro demo and watch the rocket jump off the wall from the main room when you want to chase someone running across plates in to low rl. This is where you go from water, up the stairs and jump down into main room. reload always rj's off the right hand wall when jumpin down. insane lands, then rj's off the left hand wall.

also - the dm2 stairs to mega jump in main room looks totally different.

my OPINION is that this demo isnt reload at all, and at a guess ide say its insane, as there are characteristics that are similar.

Please now take turns at flaming what is, only an opinion, and further go on to outline all spelling/grammatical errors in my post so as to take me down a peg or two.

While we're on the subject of "speculation" has it occured to anyone else that perhaps Re is playing a game with the entire qw scene in general, particularly those who frequent this site. He doesn't mingle with the qw scene but intuitively I'm sure most agree that he's not disenchanted with it. You'd have to be crazy to think that his curiosity doesn't overwhelm him to see what people are saying about him here. Especially when his peers broadcast to him what people have been saying about him with their 2nd hand interpretations. On top of that why wouldn't he. The web is fairly anonymous and when people are talking about you, don't you want to know what they're saying? It's only human.

I think his silence is a big part of the reason people are so enchanted by him. You never see the "human" side of him so it's easy to elevate him to the realm of fantasy. All he has to do is never talk to expose his personality and peoples imaginations take over.

As already stated, and I'll say it again this is purely speculative, but think about this; Imagine being him for a moment. What it would be like, having people you never talk with who talk/rant/ and chant about you on a bi-weekly basis and argue your skill to no end, giving you record comments in demo threads. Imangine everytime playing qw and wondering if you're going to see a demo of yourself as the next "new and exciting" download. People saying all manner of things about you. I can't help but speculate that he is totally thriving off the attention. Whether it's good or bad, it all motivates him as long as people are talking. It's interesting to note that his band of most zealous devotees/groupies are fiesty and quick to defend him without question. They broadcast erratic, arrogant and unusually offensive interolerant behaviour.

It's not that I want it to stop, I like watching Reload play because he is talented, and I find this odd infatuation with him very interesting, but am I the only one who speculates about such things? I can't be.

My comment isn't really saying much about Reload, but more about how people are interpreting him and that peoples concepts of the person behind Reload are probably superfluous since very few know anything about him. I think my message also suggests that it's very unlikely that he's not impacted by cha-tv whether he chooses to admit it or not.

As for the credibility of your comments, the fact that he's your brother does greatly reduce your credibility. That's not always true, but in light that you've never said anything bad about him publicly (other than that he considers himself 'above' cha-tv) does suggest you're bullshiting. Which isn't a bad thing, I mean family loyalty is generally considered a virtue.

hemlich: I don't think they're not interested in what's going on, they'd just rather be commented on vs doing the commenting. If you're an intense "competitive type" trying to be top player, it's likely you're not going to feel like talking about how great your competition is. Talking down the competition is lame, it's better to just prove yourself by playing and winning games.

As for cha-tv comments, much of what goes on here is trivial, but you do get some good interaction and feedback. I'd be very surprised if many of the players you mentioned did not at least take the time to read what people were saying about them and their competition.
